5 Conversations Every Producer Should Be Having With Clients This Fall

Fall has a way of putting change into focus. Summer schedules settle down, families look toward the end of the year, and many people start taking a closer look at their finances, priorities, and health care needs.

For Producers, that makes fall a natural time to reconnect with clients.

But a good client conversation doesn't always need to begin with a sales pitch. Some of the most valuable conversations are simply about understanding what has changed, listening to what clients need, and reminding them that you're still there to help.

Here are five conversations worth having this fall.

1. “Has Anything Changed Since We Last Talked?”

Start simple.

A client's situation today may look very different from when you first spoke. They may have changed jobs, started working for themselves, welcomed a new family member, moved, or experienced another significant life change.

Instead of assuming you know what they need, ask.

A quick check-in gives clients an opportunity to tell you what's happening in their lives and gives you a better understanding of how you can serve them.

It also changes the nature of the relationship. You're not simply the person they talked to once. You're someone who continues to pay attention.

2. “Are You Comfortable With What You're Spending on Health Care?”

Household budgets can change throughout the year. By fall, clients may have a much clearer picture of what is working financially, and what isn't.

That creates an opportunity for a straightforward conversation about their health care budget.

You don't need to begin by recommending something different. Ask how they feel about what they're currently spending and whether affordability has become a bigger priority.

If they're looking for another approach, that may create an opportunity to talk about Health Care Sharing and whether a OneShare Health Program could fit their needs.

As you have those conversations, clarity matters. OneShare Health is a Health Care Sharing Ministry, not an insurance company. Helping clients understand that distinction is an important part of helping them make an informed decision.

3. “Are You Taking Advantage of the Resources Available to You?”

Sometimes the best way to help a client isn't to sell them something new. It's to make sure they're getting value from what they already have.

For existing OneShare Health Members, a fall check-in can be a good opportunity to remind them about Member resources and encourage them to become familiar with what's available through their Membership.

OneShare Health resources include Virtual Urgent Care (Telemedicine), Rx Valet prescription discounts, and access to a broad network of Providers through First Health.

A simple question like, “Have you had a chance to look through the resources available with your Membership?” can open the door to a useful conversation.

That's service, not just selling.

4. “Do You Know Anyone Else Who Might Appreciate a Conversation?”

If you've served your clients well, don't be afraid to ask for an introduction.

The key is keeping the request natural.

Your client doesn't need to determine whether OneShare Health is right for someone else. You're simply asking for the opportunity to have a conversation.

Try asking whether they know a friend, family member, colleague, small business owner, or self-employed professional who has been reevaluating their health care options.

Referrals often begin with trust. When a client already understands how you work and feels comfortable sending someone your way, that introduction can start the new relationship on stronger footing.

5. “What Can I Help You With Before the End of the Year?”

This may be the most important question on the list.

It shifts the conversation away from what you want the client to do and toward what they need from you.

Maybe they have questions. Maybe their circumstances have changed. Maybe they want to better understand their current Membership. Or maybe everything is working well and they simply appreciate hearing from you.

Either way, you've reminded them that you're available.

And that matters.

Make the Conversation the Strategy

It's easy to think growth always requires finding more leads. Sometimes growth starts with taking better care of the relationships you've already built.

This fall, pull up your client list and start a few conversations.

Ask questions. Listen carefully. Be useful. Follow up when you say you will.

When a client's needs point toward Health Care Sharing, you can help them understand whether a OneShare Health Program may be right for their situation. When they don't, you've still strengthened a relationship.

That's the kind of client experience people remember, and the kind they're more likely to recommend to someone else.

And if you're not yet a OneShare Health Producer, there's room for you at the table.
